Student Impact is all about students serving. Church is about more than taking it all in. You are wired to make a difference, and you should have that opportunity. We have cleared the calendar every Wednesday so that you will have the chance to serve in children’s, preteen and middle school ministries or to use your musical, dramatic, and technical talent for God.
These ministry opportunities will challenge you to grow in your faith in powerful ways. But, they are primarily not about you! Consistency is vital in ministry to kids and younger students. Consistency is also vital in making sure you have practiced and/or rehearsed in the musical and dramatic ministries. Because of this, we reserve the right to warn you one time about inconsistent attendance and then remove you from your role.
You may be able to serve in one or more of these areas:
Praise bands will play in both the Middle School and High School Elevate services. This is a great way to be used to lead in worship by playing an instrument or by singing in the praise team.
Time Commitment: Practice on Sunday evening from 3:30 p.m.–4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.
As a part of the drama team, you perform video dramas and live skits in all the Elevate services and, on occasion, in our preteen, children and preschool ministry.
Time Commitment: Practice on Wednesday nights from 3:45 p.m.-4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.
These ensembles will minister in the Sunday morning and evening worship services at Sevier Heights once every five to seven weeks. These will be auditioned groups and will be made up of 8-12 singers.
Time Commitment: High School Ensemble will practice times are still to be determined.
The media teams will be made up of both middle school and high school students. They will staff all of our weekly preteen, middle and high school worship services.
Time Commitment: Media Team will train and practice on Sunday nights from 3:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.
