Student Impact

Student Impact is all about students serving. Church is about more than taking it all in. You are wired to make a difference, and you should have that opportunity. We have cleared the calendar every Wednesday so that you will have the chance to serve in children’s, preteen and middle school ministries or to use your musical, dramatic, and technical talent for God.

Expectations

These ministry opportunities will challenge you to grow in your faith in powerful ways. But, they are primarily not about you! Consistency is vital in ministry to kids and younger students. Consistency is also vital in making sure you have practiced and/or rehearsed in the musical and dramatic ministries. Because of this, we reserve the right to warn you one time about inconsistent attendance and then remove you from your role.

You may be able to serve in one or more of these areas:

AWANA Leader

Assist the adult teacher in a small group of kids by helping them with Scripture memory, participating in the lesson time, playing with kids during game time, and other a tasks.
Time Commitment: Every Wednesday during the school year from 5:30 p.m.–8:00 p.m.

Preteen Elevate Small Group Leader

Preteen Elevate provides a chance for 5th and 6th grade students to have fun, worship, and be taught from God’s Word. After the message, students are split into regular groups for a small group time. Your responsibility is to build relationships and model a consistent walk with Christ as you lead the small group time.
Time Commitment: Every Wednesday during the school year from 5:45 p.m.–7:45p.m.

Middle School Elevate Small Group Leader

Middle School Elevate provides a chance for 7th and 8th grade students to have fun, worship, and be taught from God’s Word. After the message, students are split into regular groups for a small group time. Your responsibility is to build relationships and model a consistent walk with Christ as you lead the small group time.
Time Commitment: Every Wednesday during the school year from 5:45 p.m.–7:45pm.
*You must be a junior or senior to serve in this role.

Praise Bands

Praise bands will play in both the Middle School and High School Elevate services. This is a great way to be used to lead in worship by playing an instrument or by singing in the praise team.
Time Commitment: Practice on Sunday evening from 3:30 p.m.–4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.

Drama Team

As a part of the drama team, you perform video dramas and live skits in all the Elevate services and, on occasion, in our preteen, children and preschool ministry.
Time Commitment: Practice on Wednesday nights from 3:45 p.m.-4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.

Ensemble

These ensembles will minister in the Sunday morning and evening worship services at Sevier Heights once every five to seven weeks. These will be auditioned groups and will be made up of 8-12 singers.
Time Commitment: High School Ensemble will practice times are still to be determined.

Middle School and High School Media Team

The media teams will be made up of both middle school and high school students. They will staff all of our weekly preteen, middle and high school worship services.
Time Commitment: Media Team will train and practice on Sunday nights from 3:30 p.m.-4:45 p.m. in the Warehouse.
